I think I’m maybe somewhere around 5.5 weeks “pregnant” right now (sorry, I still can’t really believe this might be for real, and I continue to feel very glass-half-empty about it, so for now I’m putting that word in scare quotes). Anyway, regardless of whether or not this works out, I’m fairly confident in saying we won’t have to do another fresh round of IVF, what with 14 blastocysts chillin’ like a villain in the freezer. So with that in mind, I’m going to offer up the leftover meds I have, if any of you are preparing for IVF and would like them (for free). Unfortunately, I really don’t have that much, and I’m out of the expensive stuff like Gonal-f, but I figure I may as well pass this stuff on anyway:
– Estrace. 2 mg pills, 17 of them.
– Luveris. Two unopened boxes of 75 IU/1ml doses, with separate vials of water and accompanying syringes.
– I also have another whole lot of needles and syringes of varying sizes that would work for progesterone shots, Lupron injections — basically anything intramuscular or subcutaneous. I’ll send these with a bunch of alcohol swabs, too. Just promise you won’t use these to inject yourself with lethal substances, please.

I hope you don’t mind me hopping onto your post, Vanessa, but I’d like to offer up my gonal F, if anyone is interested (recipient would just have to pay postage for next day air, since package has to remain cold). I’d really like to make sure they go to someone who does not have coverage for medications, since we did pay out of pocket for them (awfully high deductible insurance).
I have 4 pens of 450 IU gonal F (and one with 32 IU used but probably not supposed to use opened pen, even though I swear I am disease free ;-) and 2 vials of cetrotide (single use). Please respond to my post with a means of contacting you if interested. I am in the Rochester, NY area.

Actually this made me remember that I also have 2 vials of Luveris plus syringes, unopened from my first cancelled cycle. If you get any takers, let me know and maybe we can ship them together. I assume that if I end up doing IVF #3 I’ll be on yet another different protocol and I won’t need the Luveris. Great idea!

Hahaha… I was thinking the same thing! I figure, if someone who wants the meds has a blog and is writing about her fertility struggles, I can probably trust her. Otherwise… well, I’ll just do some research. :)

You could try asking your RE to put you in touch with someone who might have leftover meds. I tried donating mine through my RE but they weren’t interested. I managed to find someone on resolve’s infertility forum and sent them to her.
No problem! I did try asking my RE but they rarely have any donations. Wierd huh? Oh well. Resolve is a great forum! Thank you!

Hey there! I’m so sorry, I think the Gonal-f is probably expired by now because I’d already started using the pen and, even with refrigeration, you’ve got to finish it off within a month or two, I believe. Sadly don’t have any Puregon or Follistim, either. Any other meds you’re in need of, like estrogen or progesterone??
